New Patient Medicals
All new patients joining the practice will be offered a new patient medical examination with one of the practice nurses. The nurse will check your blood pressure, height, weight, past medical history and family medical history.
Annual Health Review
Our Practice Nurses, Helen Gibb and Myra Boyle run an Annual Health Review Clinic for our patients with heart disease, strokes, chest problems, epilepsy. You will be sent a letter inviting you to make an appointment here at the Health Centre. They will organise any tests that are necessary and make a plan with you for any changes in treatment that are needed.
Why Have a Special Clinic?
Treatments and monitoring for people with heart disease, strokes, chest problems and epilepsy, have greatly changed in the last few years. For people with angina, heart attacks, strokes, TIAs (mini-strokes), and chronic chest problems, there are new treatments that can reduce symptoms and prevent problems in the future. These new treatments mean that choosing the best treatment for an individual is getting more complicated. Because of this, we have decided to start a separate clinic. This means that we can spend more time with each patient. Unless there are particular problems, most patients will be seen in this clinic once or twice per year. This will not affect which doctor you choose to see normally, or your other care in any way.
